(ANSA) – ALGIERS, 14 LUG – The Italian Embassy in Algeria and the Italian Institute of Culture in Algiers, in collaboration with the Algerian Ministry of Culture and the Arts, will inaugurate on July 16 the exhibition “Universo Olivetti.
The Community as utopia”.
The exhibition, which will remain open at the Palais de la Culture Moufdi Zakaria in Algiers until December 31, is organized into four main thematic sections: Factory, Culture and Image, City and Politics, Society. Each section is developed in an interdisciplinary key and illustrated with a wide variety of graphics, original documents and reproductions.
The exhibition, created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the MAXXI Foundation and the Adriano Olivetti Foundation, is organized by Pippo Ciorra for the MAXXI and by Francesca Limana and Matilde Trevisani for the Adriano Olivetti Foundation, and benefits from the contribution d’Olivetti SpA (main sponsor) and Translated (additional sponsor).
The materials for the exhibition come mainly from the archives of the Adriano Olivetti Foundation and the Olivetti Historical Archive Association.
Adriano Olivetti succeeded in creating a new and unique factory experience in the world after the Second World War based on the principle that it is possible to create a balance between social solidarity and profit.
As a result, Olivetti workers lived in better conditions than other large Italian factories: they received higher wages and had kindergartens and houses available near the factory. (ANSA).
