Punjab Ministry of Youth Affairs to construct sports medicine center
Punjab Youth Ministry to build a sports medicine center: The ground was laid for the opening of Pakistan’s first-ever sports medicine center on Friday. Punjab Youth Affairs Minister Malik Taimoor Masood officiated the ceremony.
The Coach, Punjab Chief Secretary Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, Punjab Sports Director General Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, Director of Youth Affairs, Deputy Directors Tariq Wattoo and Rauf Bajwa and Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed were present at this occasion.
Professor Kamran Butt and Assistant Professor of Orthopedics, Dr Amir Sohail, along with other medical experts attended the ceremony. Punjab Director General of Sports, Muhammad Tariq Qureshi spoke about the various features, functions and services of the Sports Medicine Center in his in-depth briefing to Punjab Sports and Youth Minister, Malik Taimoor Masood.
Multiple therapies and services related to sports ultrasound, isokinetic strength testing, sports physiotherapy, sports surgery, exercise physiology, sports biomechanics, sports radiology and sports nutrition will be provided to athletes at the Center for Sports Medicine. Speaking to the media on the occasion, Punjab Minister of Sports and Youth, Malik Taimoor Masood said the groundbreaking ceremony of Pakistan’s first-ever sports medicine center was great news especially for the athletes.
The Sports Medicine Center of Pakistan, which will be launched today, will provide the best athletes in different sports with the best medical care and preventive health care with the aim of making the country stronger. Punjab Sports and Youth Minister Malik Taimoor Masood said the fundamental objective of the sports medicine center is to provide the best health facilities to top Pakistani athletes.
A new health initiative by the Pakistani government will ensure athletes are in the best possible shape to compete at international level.
The sports medicine center will provide the best healthcare to players across Pakistan. It will be the first-ever facility of its kind in the country and will focus particularly on male and female athletes, especially those who suffered injuries during the Games. From experts to sports medical facilities, Sports Medicine Clinic will also turn athletes into Pakistani sports enthusiasts.
On Friday, Punjab Sports and Youth Secretary Ali Jan Khan visited different sports venues of NPSC, as part of an inspection tour. Punjab Sports and Youth Affairs Secretary Ali Jan Khan was accompanied by Punjab Sports Director General Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, Administrative Director Syed Omair Hasan, Deputy Director Tariq Wattoo and Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed during the visit inspection.
