The Spanish National Police have dismantled a criminal organization that financed the notorious American gang “Dominicans Don’t Play”, as reported on Wednesday July 6.

Spain’s National Police bust of a criminal organization allegedly funding the ‘Dominicans Don’t Play’ (DDP) gang saw 66 people arrested, including 9 hackers and 19 outright gang members, who were charged with belonging to a criminal organization, among other offences, according to the official report.

The operation, deployed in several Spanish provinces, involved more than 150 police officers, who were able to discover that part of the criminal organization was carrying out bank scams throughout the country, with which they obtained almost half a million euros.

So far, a total of 59 victims have been detected across Spain and the money defrauded is estimated to exceed €500,000.

During the operation, 19 simultaneous entries and searches were carried out during which two pistols, three shotguns, five machetes, ammunition, narcotics, bank cards, cash, as well as items and documentation related to the rules and structure of the DDPs have been seized. .

Investigators were also able to prove that Dominican Don’t Play members were using children to carry out various criminal activities under the promise of membership or advancement in the gang.

They were instructed to carry out property occupations, drug purchases, robberies and even murders.

Two members of the DDP allegedly ordered the attempted murder of a former member of the Trinitarios, a gang with which they had an ongoing vendetta since 2009.

The incident happened on June 5, when two young men walked into a cider bar in Madrid and shot a waiter who belonged to Trinitarians.

Those arrested are believed to be responsible for the offenses of membership in a criminal organization, bank fraud, trafficking in human beings with a view to committing crimes, drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons, attempted murder, extortion and identity theft.

Formed in Manhattan, New York, in 1990, Dominicans Don’t Play is a Dominican-American street gang known for primarily using machetes and knives as weapons.

The news follows reports that Spain’s National Police have busted a gang that specializes in robbing luxury villas after they robbed the home of a well-known footballer, as reported on Tuesday July 5.
