USAID Seeks Concept Papers From National Private Companies To Boost Agribusiness Development In Uzbekistan

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through its agribusiness development activity established the “Agribusiness Development Fund” and announced a request for concept papers from the United States. ‘national private agribusinesses to strengthen the value chain of agricultural products, increase sales, create new jobs and access new markets.

The fund aims to help agro-industries introduce new technologies to promote the growth of their businesses. Supporting these businesses will help Uzbekistan diversify its economy and increase regional and international trade. USAID hosts concept papers for qualified / eligible agro-industries and in particular women-owned and youth-owned businesses and businesses employing women and youth.

This initiative is implemented through USAID’s Agribusiness Development Activity, a five-year activity, implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, which supports the growth led by the private sector in the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan by introducing new value-added technologies and management practices across the entire value chain of targeted agricultural products. These efforts will focus on increasing value-added production in Uzbekistan, engaging women and youth, connecting educational institutions with private sector demand, and promoting policies conducive to education.
